Qualified. Compassionate. Committed to a better criminal justice system.

When I campaigned for Judge four years ago, I could hardly imagine the challenges that awaited me upon taking the bench. A case backlog due to Hurricane Harvey was compounded by Covid, resulting in unprecedented criminal caseloads. After being sworn in in January of 2021, I immediately began to tackle the issue by consistently conducting jury trials and sentencing hearings. I also implemented court procedures that ensure timely evidence production and that cases are moving quickly to resolution.

As a result of this work, the 337th District Court is consistently among the courts with the lowest pending case counts, the smallest trial dockets, the fewest people detained pretrial, and the quickest time to case disposition. I was also honored to be one of the highest-rated Criminal District Court judges in Harris County in the Houston Bar Association’s last Judicial Evaluation Poll. I am incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished in my first term and am excited to continue working hard for the people of Harris County.
